Diamonds-
Our task was to create a short sequence of up to 20 shots in which a package is exchanged.
we had to include shot transitions and a range of different shots and angles.
When watched and reviewed by our class, they said-
The black and white effect on the video fitted really well as it adds dramatic effect and is typical of the genre we tried to recreate. We used the Black and White effect to create cinematic effect that is different from the rest of the groups within our lesson.
The camera within some of the scenes such as when the camera is on an arc around the case, is shaking. This was due to holding the camera free hand while moving it rather than using an arc track. If we were to redo our video, we would use a track for the camera to go around so that the shot is more steady.
The track music we used is a copyright free music clip from the public files on the college computers. We chose this music as it was the best fit for the video from the other music tracks we found. The music is typical of 80s police drama which was the style we were hoping for mixed with a Film Noir twist.
When planning our clip, we took into account the locations we would be using. We decided on the miserable derelict looking part behind the college as it is not in use and looks secluded. The other location we used was the photo studio that we designed to look slightly like an office ready for business. These locations work well for the transition to a meeting to a deal.
One error we made was shooting it on different days. We had not prepared costumes for the video so we were wearing our normal clothes for the shoot. You can clearly see that Chris is wearing a different shirt inside than he was outside. We knew this was going to be a problem but decided to leave it in as we didn't have enough time to re shoot the scenes.
