- Amateur film making- accompanying young, local film makers on one or more of their shoots for short films. Getting an insight into their work and how they got started.
- Local music scene- following a local, signed band to practice and asking questions as to how the local music scene around Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Norwich has helped them achieve what they have, signing a recording contract and setting up tours.
The idea that I have chosen is the Local Music Scene. I have decided on this one as it is something that I am very interested in and would like to give others an insight into.
For this documentary, I will be following a local band to their practice session and asking them questions about how the gigging locally has helped them achieve a recording contract and potential European and UK tours. `
Our documentary will be an observational documentary, though we will also talk to them and ask questions. I feel that our primary audience would be a younger demographic, both male and females between the ages of 15-30. This is because the genre of the band is more popular in a younger audience, therefor, in theory our documentary will also be more popular with a younger audience.
The idea of our documentary is to give the audience an insight as to what goes into making a band and how they have worked so hard to achieve what they have so far and how they will keep working as hard as they can to achieve even more that they ever dreamed of. I hope to inform people about all of the hard work that goes into forming a band and landing a record deal, fitting it around their lives and work.
we will be filming the band both in college, bringing them in and having a relaxed interview with some of the members, we will also be filming them at their band practice, talking to them there and also recording them playing some songs.
The people involved in our documentary will be the crew, Me, Connor and Toby. we are the production crew, filming and recording sound. The other people will be the band, the people the documentary is about.
as this is mostly an observational documentary, we will not need props and costumes, we will just be observing them while they are practicing. we will need cameras, tripods and microphones.
We will also not need a budget.
