Our animation will be created using stop motion animation, created using plain white Lego models and Purple clay in order to create our story.
In our Esting, we are in sort, re creating the trailer for the 1958 film The Blob. Our plain white characters will be in a city being taken over by a purple monster, they will slowly be eaten and dissolved into white clay that forms the E4 logo on the monsters body.
Our animation will be set in a city, on a road with a background of a city scape and stars created on Photoshop and printed, the road will also be printed or drawn.
I think that there will not be any limitations when making our Esting, I believe that the whole project is achievable in the time allowed and with the materials we have decided to use.
Our target audience are predominantly males between 16-25. due to the concept of our proposed Esting, we are using Lego and modeling clay which appeals more to a male audience.
We are using the E4 logo in our Esting and we will be using music provided by E4 and it will be animated.
We did not have to make any changes to meet the requirements of the brief, the only thing we changed was the idea of the blob monster having limbs.
There should be no legal issues when filming our Esting, the only copyrighted components are the music and the logo which are provided by E4 for the sole purpose of the competition, there are also no safety issues as we are not leaving the college grounds and not doing anything to put ourselves or others in danger.
The main 'character' in our animation is the monster that I created out of clay, pipe cleaners and plastic eyes. We named him E-Zilla. He terrorizes the small city and its inhabitants (the lego people) until he eventually eats one and melts shortly after.
These are two of the nameless Lego people, they inhabit the town that we created for our animation, they are also the victims of E-Zilla's terror reign over the city.
These are the buildings that we created out of cardboard, coloured in with felt tip pens with sticky labels added to create the windows. In the background, you can see the set we created out of a cardboard box with the top and one side cut off, we stuck a picture of a cityscape on the back wall and the rest we covered with black paper to make sure it was all dark. we then set up lights to ensure we could see the set as well as possible.
